Dr. Kristen Oswald, L.Ac. DACM
Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
Licensed Acupuncturist, Clinical Herbalist
Originally from the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, Kristen was homegrown in the river canyon sparklin', wildflower swayin’ higher elevations of Mariposa, CA.
She earned her Masters of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2020 in Portland, OR, and completed her capstone graduate research project on the relationship between mental-emotional disorders, the gut microbiome, and chronic digestive diseases. She completed her BA in Socio-Cultural Anthropology at UC Berkeley in 2012 with a special interest in Ethnobotany and environmental anthropology. She has studied Western herbalism for 10 years and uses it regularly in her practice.
She completed her Doctorate of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine in 2022 in San Francisco, CA with a special focus on the medical anthropology of Post Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome in the context of Classical Chinese Medicine.
Kristen's therapeutic ethos is to always treat in a manner as least invasive as possible, allowing the body to guide the treatment. She believes in healing through the lens of witnessing Nature and seasons reflected in the systems of the body and in overall patterns of constitutional health.
When not treating, she loves rompin' around the foothills and chasing that high-desert light of the Eastern Sierra with her pup Rosario. She also side-hustles as a freelance botanical watercolor illustrator, cultivates the medicinal Chinese and Western herbs she uses in her clinic, practices QiGong, and loves to be near water of any kind.
LUPINS is an all-bodies-welcome inclusive & safe space of healing, located on occupied Southern Sierra Miwuk land.
